Abstract

This paper looks at some of the problems facing those who design questionnaires for the purposes of educational evaluation, and suggests a dynamic approach which may provide some solutions. An example is given where this dynamic approach (which we have called the self‐evolving questionnaire item) has been used. The paper concludes with a consideration of how this approach may be extended beyond the questionnaire.
