Information Technology and an Educational Broadcasting DatabaseAbstract

The link between educational broadcasting and information technology is explained. Some aspects of knowledge organization for information retrieval are explored, and illustrated with reference to the pilot Educational Broadcasting Database being constructed and evaluated for selected areas of the secondary school curriculum.

Communication of user‐selected elements of data from the database to microcomputers in schools using Viewdata and Ceefax forms a large part of the pilot exercise.
