Pages 327-333 | Published online: 09 Jul 2006

Abstract

Teleconferencing ranges from full motion video by satellite to the use of home or office telephones. Tutoring by telephone is common in the USA but has had limited use in the UK. PACNET is a national network based at Plymouth Polytechnic, researching and developing the use of the telephone in teaching and training. Implications for continuing education, the disabled and computer links to the home office are considered.
