SUMMARY

This paper describes a recent study that we have conducted in order to explore the organizational and cultural impacts of rapid technological change and educational developments within higher education institutions in the United Kingdom. The user strand of the project was concerned with the use of electronic resources by academic staff in higher education. This examines some of the findings of the project and suggest ways in which more effective use of electronic resources by academic staff might be achieved.
