Notes
It is true that there are many different kinds of inquiries that can be conducted, some of which may expressly aim to discern the experiences, stories, hopes and fears of a quite specific cohort of human actors involved, wherein the researcher might be justified in being highly partial about who is engaged ‘in the field’. On some occasions, then, there might be reasons for concentrating solely on children and young people, but even then there will probably need to be at least some nod to the understandings, roles and practices of others (including diverse adults) implicated in the life-worlds of these young subjects.
