Abstract
Serious disturbances in ego development, self-esteem, and self-identity exist in the schizophrenic person. As patients, their graphic work represents a direct and meaningful reflection of the symptoms of their psychopathology. I show here that skillful art therapy can help modify their psychotic projections as well as providing a constructive rehabilitative approach. The use of the creative arts in conjunction with more traditional forms of treatment has been shown to be an effective tool in treating the schizophrenic client intrapsychically and interpersonally, both in terms of relieving the symptomatology, as well as in the possible resolution of the pathology itself.
Il existe des troubles graves du développement de l'ego, de l'estime de soi et de l'identité de soi chez la personne schizophrène. En tant qu'œuvre de patients, le travail graphique des personnes schizophrènes représente un reflet direct et profond des symptômes de leur psychopathologie. Je montre ici que l'art thérapie, administrée avec habileté, peut contribuer à modifier les projections psychotiques de ces patients tout en constituant une approche constructive de réhabilitation. Le recours aux arts créatifs, conjointement avec des formes plus traditionnelles de traitement, s'est révélé étre un outil efficace dans le traitement du patient schizophrène, aux niveaux intrapsychique et interpersonnel, à la fois en termes de soulagement de la symptomatologie et d'une possible résolution de la pathologie elle-même.
Schizophrene Persönlichkeiten weisen gravierende Störungen der Ich-Entwicklung, der Selbstachtung und der Selbstidentifikation auf. Graphische Darstellungen von Patienten repräsentieren eine direkte und ausdrucksvolle Reflexion der Symptome ihrer Psychopathologie. Ich möchte hier aufzeigen, daß die geschickt eingesetzte Kunsttherapie nicht nur helfen kann, ihre psychotischen Projektionen zu modifizieren, sondern auch ein konstruktives, rehabilitatives Verfahren darstellt. Die Anwendung der Kreativen Kunst in Kombination mit den eher traditionellen Formen der Behandlung hat sich als effiziente Methode bei der intraspychischen und interpersonalen Behandlung von schizophrenen Klienten erwiesen, sowohl im Hinblick auf eine Verminderung der Symptomatologie als auch einer möglichen Auflösung der Pathologie selber.
