This essay discusses Slavoj ̃ i — ek's attempt to challenge the prevalent conception of 'totalitarianism' as the embodiment of absolute evil. It highlights how this appropriation of the notion of 'totalitarianism' by liberal thinking shrinks the boundaries of what is considered acceptable in the political field.
