Olivia N. Saracho is a professor at the department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership of the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. Having published extensively in the field of early childhood education, her publication is a second edition, described as a ‘curriculum text for students who are preparing to teach children aged 3 years through 5’. Despite this rather specific note on audience, my belief is that the book will also appeal to a wider range of students beyond initial teacher training, including those studying Early Childhood Studies and related courses.
