Abstract
This event marked the 10th anniversary of the first workshop on this topic in Bayreuth, which initiated a bi-annual series on pattern formation in complex systems which took place in Kitakyushu, Santa Fe, Copenhagen and Budapest. Some of the topics discussed are reported below (see also www.phy.uni-bayreuth.de/-ptlc/).
