Abstract
This paper compares the provision of green spaces in two urbanized areas in two European localities, Salford and St Ouen. Salford forms part of the Greater Manchester conurbation in the North West of England, St Ouen, a dormitory town situated three miles north of Paris, is one of Salford's twinning counterparts, in France. The case study analysis explores the differences and similarities in approach to open space and to what extent Agenda 21 is considered in their respective strategies.
