Designing infopoint: A multi‐purpose multimedia library guide

Abstract

This paper describes the design and development of a multimedia guide to Learning Services. The package which encompasses library and computing facilities, subject resources, floorplans and site personnel is described in detail. The problems associated with introducing large numbers of students to Learning Services are discussed and the advantages of the multimedia approach explored. The multipurpose nature of the package is outlined and plans for future evaluation and developments are described.
