Abstract
In about three and a half decades since its introduction, business teacher education has made a modest impact on the teaching profession in Nigeria. However, effort to improve its standard and quality seems to have been slowed down by a number of factors such as low public interest, curriculum structure, inadequate personnel, inadequate material resources for training, and slow adaptation to research and technological challenges. Through assessing the current trends in the profession, the article goes on to project the direction that business teacher education in Nigeria should chart in order to remain vibrant and professionally relevant to the teachers, learners and the nation.
