Abstract

We calculate the contribution C 0 to the normalized angular intensity correlation function C(q, k/q′, k′) for the scattering of light from a one-dimensional random surface. We show that the C0 contribution comes from the correlations of the elastic initial or final single-scattering processes and can be the leading contribution to the long-range correlation function.
