Abstract
Magnetic domain walls up to approximately 20 mm2 in area have been identified in thin basal plane platelets of the weak ferromagnet α-Fe2O3 using synchrotron radiation X-ray topography. The behaviour of these basal plane walls under small magnetic fields was examined in real time using the Daresbury X-ray imaging system. Area contrast is exhibited by the walls in white radiation X-ray topographs.
