Abstract
Independent measurements of the Compton profile of aluminium with 241Am sources (Eγ = 59.54 keV) have revealed a significant asymmetry, ∼1% of (0), below 2 atomic units of momentum. It is believed that this departure from symmetry about q= 0 is another manifestation of the failure of the impulse approximation.
