Hall conductivity in the random-phase model

Pages 347-350 | Received 16 Oct 1979, Accepted 18 Nov 1979, Published online: 01 Dec 2006

Abstract

The random-phase model for charge transport in the just-extended states of amorphous and liquid semiconductors is re-examined. Previously derived results for the electrical conductivity and Hall effect are obtained under the more physically plausible assumption that the phases of the local atomic-like wavefunc-tions are correlated over the phase correlation distance, but that phase differences of distinct pairs of sites are uncorrelated.
