Abstract
The conductivity and thermoelectric power of single crystals of manganese ferrite, MnFe2O4, have been measured in the temperature range 300–1000 K. Resistivity and thermopower anomalies are observed at the Néel temperature and are explained as being due to displacements of the bands of localized states and the Fermi level as magnetic ordering occurs. The polaron hopping energy at 800 K is found to be equal to approximately 0·18eV.
