Scaling properties of probability distributions in disordered systems

Pages 1031-1044 | Published online: 01 Dec 2006

Abstract

Probability distributions of resistances in disordered electronic systems are studied, by means of a real-space scaling transformation, and scaling properties of the distributions are discussed. In the weak scattering limit the results confirm single-parameter scaling in the sense that any initial distribution scales, under change of scale, towards a universal distribution characterized by one parameter only.
