Abstract
Difference Compton profiles for polycrystalline CaH2 and Ca have been measured with 241Am 59.54 keV radiation scattered from CaH2 and Ca pellets of the same optical thickness. The difference profile ΔJ(q) = J CaH2(q)−Jca(q) is compared to theoretical predictions based upon the anionic, atomic and protonic models of the hydride's electronic structure. None of these models provides agreement between theory and experiment.
