Abstract

Critical current densities of bronze-processed commercial multifilamentary superconducting Nb3Sn wires reacted at different constant temperatures for various periods of time have been measured in varying external magnetic fields at 4·2 K. These results are discussed and extrapolated values of H c2 deduced. The results reported here are also correlated with microstructural observations made on samples of the same wires, and described in the accompanying paper.
