Abstract
An ultrasonic study of the loss characteristic in phosphate glasses (AgI)x(AgPO3)1−x and (Ag2S)x(AgPO3)1−x was carried out in the 1–350 K temperature range. The whole spectrum at fixed frequency and variable temperature was fitted by two Gaussian-like distributions of relaxation times. Such an analysis enabled us to obtain some parameters connected with the relaxation process due to the mobile ions Ag+ in the high-temperature loss region and to the structural defects at lower temperatures.
