Abstract

The peculiarities of the mechanism of optical information recording in vitreous semiconductor films undergoing photoinduced instabilities, caused by a structural transformation at distances exceeding medium-range order, have been studied. Formation of a dissipative structure in the behaviour of the parameters and its period dependence on the power density of the exciting illumination, composition and structural defectiveness are considered.
