The effect of spiritual intelligence in the classroom: God only knows

Abstract

Quietly, ever so tentatively, science and spirituality are beginning to take a closer look at one another. Though this new relationship is a tenuous one at best, further research may produce a systemic change in the way we educate our children. If educators acknowledge that a holistic approach to teaching is most beneficial to students, it is essential to determine the effect spirituality may have in their everyday classroom lives and allow inquiry to take place. The complicated nature of this task, coupled with the highly charged subject matter, will not make it easy. Pioneers in this field have experienced both professional trepidation and controversy. Their persistence in this area of research will be key to providing insights previously unobtainable.
