Exploring HRD in global economic crises: reflections on the 11th International Conference of the Asia Chapter and the 2nd Conference of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) chapter of the academy of human resource development

Abstract

This paper provides the reflections of two of the conference organizers of the joint conference of the 11th International Conference of the Asia Chapter and the 2nd International Conference of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Chapter of the Academy of Human Resource Development that took place in Istanbul, Turkey, November 8–10, 2012. Using a National Human Resource Development framework, we reflected on the experience of the conference from its inception to its execution. We concluded with suggestions for future joint conferences in HRD.
