Making Holograms from Archive Footage: Converting Temporal Parallax to Stereoscopic Parallax

Pages 36-40 | Published online: 08 Jul 2016

Abstract

Useful temporal parallax can be found in films, video and television sequences in great abundance, and with the advent of modern computers it is possible for the first time to manipulate a sequence of film frames to eliminate flat or pseudoscopic features. This paper outlines the distinction between temporal and stereoscopic parallax and shows by example how appropriated subject motion may be used to create 3D images as multiplex holograms.
