Notes
The EUSW thematic network consists of almost 50 partners from 24 European countries, most partners being involved in education for social work at universities or colleges. It is a Socrates funded network with several aims. The primary aim is to encourage a comparative approach to social work, both as education and as a profession. The anticipated outputs (over three years) include annual meetings; establishment of a website and a newsletter; and arranging a European summer school in 2005 (one by-product of which will be the publication of books in a comparative European social work series). The first book, European Social Work (Campanini & Frost, 2004), presents a fresh attempt to develop a general overview of basic information about social work in 24 European countries. Information about the EUSW network and partnership opportunities can be found at www.eusw.org.
