ABSTRACT

RelSoft is a prototype PC software architecture aimed at facilitating the arduous task of maintenance evaluation and reliability analysis of mining equipment carried out by mining engineers. Two approaches employed in the analysis of equipment maintenance data are integrated in the software architecture. The first approach deals with a basic maintenance analysis used in the determination of equipment failure trends. The second approach is used to predict failure trends based on statistical reliability models. An example case study related to failure data of a fleet of three sco-optrams in underground mines in the Sudbury mining region is discussed.
