Inheritance of Ability To Inoculate Clover Clones in Parthenogenetic Clones Nematode Heterodera trifolii Goffart, 1932

Abstract

Two clones of nematode H. trifolii and three clones of white clover of Jegeva-4 sort, singled out in my earlier work, were used for experiments. Constant temperature at 24±1°C and inoculum density of 100±20 larvae for one test were maintained. During the experiment three generations of one nematode clone were cultivated on one clover clone. Larvae from the third nematode generation were transferred to the other clover clone. The resistance against H. trifolii of all clover clones, used in this experiment, was significantly different (P⁢.01). The significance level of differences between various nematode generations was evaluated: the ability of nematodes to infect the same clover clone did not change. The selection of nematodes on one clover clone did not change the ability of nematode off-springs to grow on other clover clones. Nematode survival was very different in various tests for each clover clone of Jegeva-4, but the average nematode survival on one clover clone was stable through many nematode generations and did not depend on nematode selection. To explain the results of the experiments the hypothesis of the random genome expression was proposed.

Reziumė

Eksperimentams naudoti du nematodo Heterodera trifolii Goffart, 1932 klonai ir trys baltojo dobilo Jegeva −4 veislės klonai. Temperatūra (24 ± 1°C) ir užkrėtimui naudotų nematodų lervų kiekis (100±20) buvo pastovūs. Trys vieno nematodo klono kartos augintos ant vieno dobilo klono. Trečios kartos nematodų palikuonimis buvo užkrėsti dobilai is kito klono. Visi dobilo klonai, naudoti eksperimente, reikšmingai skyrėsi (P<0.01) savo atsparumu H. trifolii užkrėtimui. Įvertintas skirtumų tarp visų nematodų kartų reikšmingumo lygmuo: nematodų sugcbėjimas užkrėsti tq patį dobilo kloną nepasikeitė. Nematodų selekcija ant vieno dobilo klono nepakeitė nematodų palikuonių sugebėjimo daugintis ant kito dobilo klono. Nematodų išgyvenimas skirtinguose bandymuose su kiekvienu dobilo klonu labai skyrėsi, tačiau vidutinis nematodų išgyvenimas ant vieno dobilo klono buvo stabilus eilėje kartų ir nepriklausė nuo nematodų selekcijos. Paaiškinti gautus rezultatus pasiūlyta atsitiktinės genomo ekspresijos hipotezė.
