RARE BIRDS IN CENTRAL LITHUANIA

Abstract

This article presents data on rare birds in Central Lithuania, their status, distribution and abundance. The data are based on the Atlas of Breeding Birds and material gathered during the studies of biodiversity. It is established that this densely populated region still contains areas suitable for many rare birds species.

Santrauka

Remiantis perinčių paukščių Atlaso ir biologinės įvairovės tyrimų medžiaga, straipsnyje pateikti duomenys apie retus Vidurio Lietuvos paukščius -jų statusą, išplitimq bei gausumą. Nustatyta, kad šiame, stipriai žmogaus įsisavintame regione, išliko vertingų paukščiams teritorijų, kur sutinkama nemažai retų paukščių rūšių.
