An Interview with Tarja Savolainen

(MOT student)

Abstract

Tarja is a 66 year old woman who has lived two different lives in two different countries. She started life in Finland, had a close and loving family and had a passion for ballet which she shared with her twin sister. After graduating from business college, she worked in a bank in Finland, but then a move to Australia changed her life. She found herself in a new and strange country with no friends or family apart from her husband and young daughter. However, she embraced Australia and made it her home. She developed a deep interest in esoteric philosophies and joined the Theosophical Society where she later became the Librarian and then Secretary of her local lodge. She also had a working life with a health fund for many years. Now retired, Tarja enjoys her freedom and free time by keeping active, busy and of course reading about esoteric philosophies. She hopes she made a difference to people's lives along the way, and says that looking back she would not have changed a thing.
