Occupational Therapy Trailing in Uganda: The Birth of a Profession

Pages 26-31 | Published online: 06 Oct 2016

Abstract

The author outlines the Occupational Therapy Training Programme developed in Uganda to meet the specific clinical needs encountered in this rural developing country. Working with very limited material and personnel resources, and a minimal existing health care service, she discusses how these factors can be viewed in a positive light using them as assets rather than seeing them as insurmountable problems.
