Abstract
Last May, a group of students of the Eckardtsheim school of occupational therapy in Bielefeld, Germany, went for the second time on a study week to Krakow, Poland.
The main theme of the study week was „Industrial therapy and vocational rehabilitation psychiatry in Kraków”. We attended lectures, visited institutions and learnt about many interesting projects. We became acquainted with different concrete aspects of the therapeutic concept in psychiatry: therapeutic workshops, day centers, self-relief projects (including therapy-free rooms) and a social welfare house. The study week was mainly organised by our visitor-friendly colleagues of the Rehabilitation-day clinic „Miodowastrasse 9”—the meeting point and information center for us students. The study week in this beautiful city was very impressive and informative. In Kraków we learned to know a concept in psychiatry which is in change, the aims and some insights into this change.
