ABSTRACT

Randomised controlled trials beginning in the 1990s showing that the Lifestyle Redesign programme can improve the health-related quality of life and satisfaction. Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen, which is the concept of ‘prevention is better than treatment’ clarifies methods of health preservation. We observed similarities between Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen and Lifestyle Redesign despite their different cultural backgrounds. The pattern of self-care, stress management, time management, social network, environmental modification, productive activity, and entertainment were reviewed intend to increase interest on the application of Lifestyle Redesign and Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen in occupational therapy. We elaborate the native concept of occupational therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen, as well as the relationship between the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health, connections between with Lifestyle Redesign, and discussed whether they can be conjunctively applied in occupational therapy. Future studies should investigate the feasibility of the actual joint incorporation of Lifestyle Redesign and Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen into occupational therapy.
