International collaboration to strengthen professional reasoning

ABSTRACT

This case study describes a partnership between two occupational therapy writers, one from the USA and one from the UK, to produce a textbook about professional reasoning in emerging fields of practice. It explains how the partnership came about, who else was involved and how it worked over the four years that the book was in production. The process of partnership working across continents is described, highlighting the challenges and rewards, and the value of international collaboration. The paper finishes with an exploration of what the two main partners learned from the experience of working together on this project.
