Abstract

It is observed that most of the research in bearing fault diagnosis was done in case of single-point defect on rolling element bearing components. A lot of scope is available for multiple and generalised defect diagnosis. In this present work, vibration signals for different healthy and faulty conditions of rolling element bearings are collected and analysed with the help of vibration signature analysis techniques. The test bearings are used with multiple defects on bearing components. An investigation on the application of vibration signature analysis techniques to detect the faults in a rolling element bearings using time and frequency domain techniques is done to find out the best suitable techniques for fault detection in case of multiple defects in bearing components. It is expected that the feature extracted in this work may be used for further development of automate fault diagnostics systems in case of multiple defects on bearing components.
