Pacificlink Alliance: Creating the Tugun Bypass

Abstract

The following paper outlines some of the key issues contended during the creation of the Tugun Bypass–one of the most long-awaited road infrastructure projects in southeast Queensland.

Michael O’dwyer

Michael O’Dwyer has 30 years practical experience in the road construction industry, ranging from road and bridge design to construction and supervision of major freeway works, and has held senior positions with Vic Roads, including positions involving project development. Michael was the Alliance Project Manager for the $543 million Tugun Bypass project in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales, which was completed six months ahead of schedule. He currently holds the position of Alliance Manager for the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade, Dinmore to Goodna section, which commenced works in early 2009.
