Sabine Hirschauer, PhD, is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Graduate Program in International Studies at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Most recently, she was a post-doctoral research fellow with Trauma, Forgiveness and Reconciliation Studies at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Her research focuses on Human Security and Feminist Security Studies. Her book, The Securitization of Rape: Women, War and Sexual Violence, was published in December 2014 by Palgrave Macmillan.
