Ather Zia is a faculty member in the Anthropology and Gender studies program, University of Northern Colorado Greeley. Her research areas are militarization, gender, human rights and Kashmir. She is also a poet, short fiction writer and is the founder-editor of Kashmir Lit (www.kashmirlit.org).
