Gulay Turkmen-Dervisoglu is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Goettingen’s Forum for Interdisciplinary Religious Studies. She obtained her PhD in Sociology, along with a Certificate of Modern Middle East Studies, from Yale University in 2016. Her research interests include sociology of religion, comparative-historical sociology, cultural sociology, nations/nationalism and cultural trauma and collective memory in the context of national identity formation.
