Sally Matthews lectures in the Department of Political and International Studies at Rhodes University in South Africa. Her research focuses mostly on the politics of development and NGO work in Africa and on higher education teaching and transformation in South Africa. Her recent publications include an edited book, NGOs and Social Justice in South Africa and Beyond, and articles in Politics and Third World Quarterly.
