Ján Michalko is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Gender Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. In his research, he examines the extent to which female university students in South Africa draw on values and norms they perceive amongst female political elites, working with discourses on political representation and participation, intersectionality, and women's empowerment.
