R. Malcolm Smuts

R. Malcolm Smuts is Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts and the North American committee member for the Society for Court Studies. His publications include Court Culture and the Origins of a Royalist Tradition in Early Stuart England (1987; paperback edn 1998); Culture and Power in England 1585–1685 (1998); and, most recently, two edited collections that appeared last spring, The Oxford Handbook to the Age of Shakespeare, and, with Luc Duerloo, The Age of Rubens: Diplomacy, Dynastic Politics and the Visual Arts in Early Seventeenth-Century Europe.
