Thomas E. Kaiser is Professor of History at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Author of more than thirty articles and book chapters and several other studies devoted to eighteenth-century French politics, diplomacy, finance, and court culture, he is presently working on a book provisionally entitled Marie-Antoinette and the Austrian Plot, 1748–1794.
