Priya Atwal
Dr Priya Atwal is a Teaching Fellow in Modern South Asian History at King’s College London. Her doctoral research project at Oxford explored the evolving dynamics of nineteenth-century Anglo-Indian royal relations, through a focus on the ties between the royal families of Queen Victoria and Maharajah Ranjit Singh of the Punjab. She is currently working on a book that will build on some of these findings, on the subject of the rise and fall of the Sikh Empire, to be published by Hurst in 2019.
