James R. Farr

James R. Farr was the Germaine Seelye Oesterle Professor of History at Purdue University before his retirement in June 2021. He is the author of multiple books and articles in Early Modern European History, and most recently has turned his attention to the history of the self, resulting in a monograph published by Routledge in 2020 entitled Who Was William Hickey? A Crafted Life in Georgian England and Imperial India, and a forthcoming volume from Palgrave co-edited with Guido Ruggiero entitled Historicizing Life-Writing and Egodocuments in Early Modern Europe.
