Hipolitus Yolisandry Ringgi Wangge

Hipolitus Yolisandry Ringgi Wangge’s current research interests focus on democratization in developing countries, particularly the roles played within the regime by crucial actors, such as the military, during periods of transition and consolidation. His interests also extend to regional studies on Southeast Asia and Africa, ethnic politics, and security studies in Asia. Recently, he has been conducting fieldwork in West Papua on the role of Papuan youth in creating political and cultural identities during the era of special autonomy.
