by Sarah Glynn, Manchester, Manchester University Press, 2015, 292 pp., £80 (Hardback), ISBN 978-0 7190-9595-5

Notes

1. Desher Dak (The Call of the Homeland) was a monthly magazine published from 1954 to 1964 by Tasadduk Ahmad who was also a communist activist.

2. The term has been used to demarcate those in the East End who are of Bengali descent, though, in reality, they function as combination of overlapping communities and not as a single community.
