Administrative metadata for digital images: a real world application of the NISO draft standardFootnote

Abstract

Administrative metadata for digital images is discussed in the context of the International Poster Collection at the Colorado State University Libraries. The decision-making process that resulted in the use of the NISO draft standard “Data Dictionary: Technical Metadata for Digital Still Images” is detailed. The draft standard is discussed, as are the outcomes of its use in the poster project.
