Distinct hyperintense MRI signal changes in the corticospinal tracts of a patient with motor neuron disease

Pages 41-44 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

Neuroimaging in motor neuron disease extensive (MND)is currently performed to exclude other pathologies, though abnormalities may be seen which are consistent with the diagnosis. We report a patient with rapidly progressive MND exhibiting changes on a variety of contemporary magnetic resonance images, which is most likely to represent severe corticospinal tract degeneration.
