Abstract

A considerable number of research studies that have involved mainly primary and secondary school students have shown that students’ participation in collaborative projects through digital communities contributes to the positive development of intercultural interaction. The present research report examines the validity of the previous findings in the context of early childhood education, through the participation of kindergarten classes in digital communities. Our observations of students’ participation (N = 23) show that they had the opportunity to become more aware of their own culture and also take their first steps towards intercultural awareness.
